From Managing Director to your leadership development partner

I got my first full-time job at 16 and loved it from day one. I felt supported, trusted, and part of something, and that early experience shaped how I see work and leadership.

At 20, I joined a small publishing company and over 26 years went from Office Junior to Managing Director. We grew from 4 to 35 people, and I focused on building a workplace where people felt valued, connected, and proud of what they achieved together. Experiencing that business growth showed me the unique challenges and opportunities that come with it, particularly how crucial effective leadership becomes.

When I left, the feedback I received – “best boss ever,” “you created a workplace I didn’t know could exist” – meant everything. And it taught me something powerful: when people feel seen, supported, and trusted, they thrive. And when managers are equipped to lead with empathy and clarity, teams become more connected, more capable, and more resilient, resulting in an undeniably positive impact on the bottom line.

I saw this firsthand in publishing – a true team sport. Everyone’s working toward the same goal, but with different pressures, deadlines, and challenges. It wasn’t always easy, but I worked hard to create a culture where people felt understood, empowered, and proud of what they achieved together.

Now, I help other organisations create that same kind of culture, by empowering their leadership team to step up, take responsibility, and lead together.
Working with your leadership team, we build teams that are more joined-up, more self-sufficient, and better at working together, so you can stop firefighting and start leading.

Because leadership isn’t about having all the answers. It’s about creating the conditions for others to succeed.

What I believe

Your leadership team is vital in turning plans into reality.
People don’t leave companies, they leave managers. This costs your business dearly in recruitment, training, and lost productivity.
Culture isn’t built by accident. It’s built by design.
When your leadership team is on the same page, your business moves forward. Fast.
